There aren’t words to describe this magical boat ride . My husband John surprised me with the lover’s cruise…just the two of us with champagne and roses! The stories Tallon told us about the history of Amsterdam and its storied architecture were the backdrop to just the most romantic ride coasting the canals. If you visit Amsterdam do not miss this opportunity. I will remember it the rest of my life!

My husband and I booked a private dinner cruise in Amsterdam to celebrate our anniversary, and it was truly one of the highlights of our trip.
Our skipper, Scott, was outstanding. He was incredibly knowledgeable about Amsterdam's history, architecture, and culture. Beyond that, he was warm, engaging, and easy to talk to, making us feel completely comfortable from the moment we stepped aboard.
We were fortunate to experience the cruise during Amsterdam's beautiful golden hour, and the city looked absolutely magical. Gliding through the canals as the sun cast a warm glow over the buildings and bridges created a truly unforgettable atmosphere.
The dinner was wonderful, the boat was comfortable and intimate, and the entire experience felt private, relaxing, and special. Scott's professionalism, local knowledge, and genuine hospitality made the evening even more memorable.
If you're looking for a unique way to experience Amsterdam, whether for a special occasion or simply to see the city from a different perspective, I cannot recommend this private dinner cruise highly enough. Thank you, Scott, for helping make our anniversary so memorable.

It was a perfect romantic highlight to
our trip. Our captain Rocco gave us just the right amount of privacy to share special moments while also giving wonderful history highlights about Amsterdam. Also even though it was chilly, with blankets and a small heater it was cozy and romantic! 5 star reccomendation!

It got off to a great start with a very hospitable welcome. Cozy (small group), comfortable, and a drink. This was followed by a lovely cruise through the canals, with personal and expert commentary on what we saw (including the Amsterdam Light Festival). I really enjoyed it immensely! Highly recommended! (Oh yes: beautiful boat!)

In late December, I took a cruise past the artworks of the Amsterdam Light Festival. It is so cozy and pleasant in such a beautiful, small saloon boat. You can see everything much better, and we were able to get very close to the Amsterdam replica, for example. That isn't possible with the regular tour boats. And, of course, there were also excellently catered snacks and drinks. Incidentally, I got the tip for this trip from one of my cousins, who proposed to his girlfriend last September during a super romantic cruise for two. Paul Pelsser

We meet Rocco in 2019 on his first boattour, a try-out. It was wonderful , he knew a lot about Amsterdam ( Mokum) , was very considerate, kind and enthousiastic. Still is as I read the newer reviews !
A lovely memory !
Hope to be able to board again in this year of the Fire Horse.

Wow, this review is absolutely overdue!! Rocco was an incredible guide for this romantic tour. It was everything I hoped it would be. Soft music, yummy snacks, beautiful views and a private ride with a very knowledgeable captain who was able to tell me some history behind Amsterdam and why it's such a romantic city. we had such a lovely time. do not hesitate to book! it was worth every penny. perfect introduction to this amazing city!

I had a light festival tour on a small group tour with our skipper Glynn and it was absolutely amazing. Props to the skipper for making us feel welcome with snacks and drinks and giving us a wonderful walkthrough of all the different artworks.

The weather was super cold but the boat was well warmed enough and cozy for us to be able to enjoy the trip. 5 stars experience truly! 🙂

We took the 9 p.m. tour. Scott is the best guide! He had great facts about Amsterdam and interesting insights into the Light Festival artworks—in short, we had a blast! Oh yeah, and did we mention Scott is amazing?!

Fantastic boat ride with our skipper Scott! Our family took an evening boat ride through the light festival and Scott was able to share details of all the light installations but also tell us more about the city. He balanced it perfectly with guiding us while also leaving us time to chat amongst ourselves. We had a perfect evening and I couldn’t recommend this more. Finally, after the usual route to see all the light installations, we had some time left and he showed us a few hidden spots of the city by boat. 10/10 would recommend this tour with Scott.

Rocco is the sweetest captain in Amsterdam! He makes you feel at home at his clean boat, with snacks and drinks and heating onboard. He also knows a lot about Amsterdam, a great plus. Nothing felt rushed, best way to see Amsterdam and her canals. Book Rocco!

Our tour boat on November 26,2025 was just so lovely. To be able to view the city and city lights from the canals was amazing, weather was chilly but clear and our tour guide Glenn was a wonderful guide with a bit of history and knowledge of the area gave us a great deal of information and appreciation for Amsterdam. Glenn was very warm and friendly and answered all of our questions. I would definitely recommend this tour company and Glenn for a lovely ride through the canals

I proposed to my boyfriend today and I am incredibly happy. I would like to thank everyone at Romantic Tour, especially Scott. My boyfriend (and now fiancé) and I had a fantastic evening! Everything went exactly as I had planned! The playlist was perfect, as were the snacks, the view, the tour, etc. Everything was perfect! I highly recommend it. Thank you so much to Rocco and the team for such a wonderful experience! My partner (now fiancé!!) and I had a three and a half hour canal cruise on the Saloon boat and the Unlimited Love package. The email communication to arrange the evening was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our three course meals picked up along the way, and Rocco picked a perfect, quiet intimate canal for the proposal itself. We will fondly look back on this special day for the rest of our lives (and will regularly look back at the Polaroids!). For everything that was included I feel the price was very reasonable!

Scott gave us an unforgettable night on the water. Fun, informative, and picked the perfect route for us to maximize the night sights. He knows when to chime in vs when to step back and really let the romance of the moment build. What a wonderful city to explore from the water. I worked with the Romantic Tours team for about 6 months to plan my proposal to be just the way I envisioned it. The entire team was very friendly, professional and helped me get every detail right. Ciska was very responsive and helped me think through additional details to make the day as special as possible. Skipper Scott was a true pleasure to be with on the boat. I was pretty nervous arriving to the boat, but his calm and lighthearted demeanor and fun stories helped calm my nerves immediately. Justina was our incredible photographer and helped capture each special moment and we couldn’t have asked for a better team. My new fiancé even told me yesterday was the best day of her life, which wouldn’t be possible without the team helping make it all possible. I cannot thank you all enough!!!

We really enjoyed our canal tour with captain Mare. She was funny charming and knowledgeable. The snacks and drinks on board were of high quality. We took an evening tour as the sun was setting so it made for nice lighting and no glaring sun to deal with. I recommend this tour to anyone who doesn't want to ride on a party boat.
